I just had a birthday. Yay for me.
Like everyone else I know, I’m happy to have last year in the rear view mirror. I know just because we’re in a new year, all of our problems, like the pandemic, aren’t just going to go away.
But there are lots of points of light on the horizon and I’m choosing to focus on those.
Speaking of focus, I’m working on actually not focusing so much when I look in the mirror. I have a tendency to zero in on my “faults”.
Does this sound familiar?
Are the lines between my eyebrows getting deeper?
Is there yet another line developing around my mouth?
Is the skin on my neck getting looser?
Of course things are going to change over time. They don’t change over night and I don’t need to waste my energy or mental health focusing on every line on my face. It doesn’t make me happy and it doesn’t change anything either.
Those lines tell the story of my life. I don’t want to erase all that history. But, I’d like to have a refresh. For both my attitude and my face.
So… I’m practicing being more positive. Like noticing the good things about my face. How my skin is clear and glowing, how the crinkles around my eyes soften my expressions, and how my face lights up when I smile.
Mostly it’s working.
I won’t lie to you. It’s a practice and I still fall off the bandwagon at times. I wouldn’t mind smoother skin and softer lines. Maybe a few of the newer, finer ones could go away.
That’s why I’m thankful that there are great active ingredients available that can help my skin look as good as I feel.
Today I’d like to shine the spotlight on one of SunWindSnow’s hardworking serums, GloDrops.
GloDrops main jobs are to tighten and firm your skin, clean out your pores to reduce acne and promote clear, glowing skin, reduce pore size, fade sunspots, reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
GloDrops is a thick serum that absorbs quickly and goes to work in your skin’s deeper layers. It’s got a light lavender scent to relax you. Plus, lavender is anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and with dry skin. There are no ingredients in Glo Drops that don’t have a job.
The main active ingredient in GloDrops is retinol
Retinol is a (proven) superstar active ingredient that encourages collagen and elastin production to firm and tighten your skin.
It helps your skin renew itself so that you have a fresh, glowing complexion.
It helps deal with breakouts, and even helps to reduce your pore size.
I wrote a whole blog on how retinol helps your skin and how to use it. Click here for that.
The downside of retinol and retinoids is that they can make your skin red, dry and flaky, especially when you first use it.
GloDrops overcomes that problem with the intense hydration of hyaluronic acid and the soothing action of aloe.
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant. This means it draws water to your skin. It’s hydrating as opposed to moisturizing, meaning it adds moisture to your skin rather than helping yor skin keep the moisture it already has. It attracts up to 1000 times its weight in moisture to your skin.
Your body actually makes its own hyaluronic acid. It’s a sugar molecule that binds with collagen and water. It’s naturally present in your skin and your joints. But like collagen , elastin, and other things, you make less of it as you grow older.
The good news is that you can put hyaluronic acid on your skin (all SunWindSnow products are loaded with it) and your skin will almost instantly firm up in your eye area, plump up and soften fine lines, and increase moisture to get rid of puffiness.
It’s good for all skin types and your skin readily absorbs it.
GloDrops contains another humectant-glycerin. Glycerin is also a sugar molecule that draws water to itself and your skin.
Both the hyaluronic acid and glycerin in GloDrops comes from plant sources.
People have been using herbs to make their skin look better and be healthier for millennia. Why not take advantage of all that knowledge?
GloDrops has a special mix of herbal extracts that are good for helping your skin fight inflammation and free radicals, adapt to stress, and promote glowing skin health. These include bee propolis, green tea, gotu kola, and gingko.
These plant powerhouses each work in a slightly different way to brighten and tighten your skin, fight the free radicals that cause so much damage to your skin, and keep your complexion healthy and looking its best.
Each of the ingredients in GloDrops work together to become more than the sum of their individual parts.
The result is a hard working serum that can make a significant difference for your skin.
Here’s what some of GloDrops fans are saying :
"I love this retinol serum! It really helps the wrinkles and fine lines on my face. It doesn’t irritate my skin like other retinols that I have used. I use it nightly and have really noticed a big difference!" KW
“I’ve always shied away from retinol products because I have sensitive skin that tends to be dry. I’ve been using GloDrops for a few months now and not only have I not had any problems, my skin looks great! The little lines around my eyes are gone and my really is glowing.” JF
It’s best to use GloDrops at night
The two main reasons for this are:
- Sunlight breaks down retinol. Which means it won’t do much for you if you use it during the day.
- When you sleep, your skin (and body) are working hard to repair the damage of the day and to renew itself. This is the time to use powerhouse ingredients because this is when your skin can put them to the best use.
Here’s how I suggest you do it:
Wash your face with warm (not hot!) water. Remove your makeup and the grime from the day.
Put a few drops of GloDrops on your hands and pat on to face, neck, chest, and hands. You can use GloDrops on your eye area and it works really well. Just don’t get it in your eye because it stings. It won’t cause damage though.
If your skin is dry, you can use a facial oil like RainDrops. Pat it over your moisturized skin to seal in your skin’s moisture and all the goodies that you just delivered to your face.
Be patient and consistent
GloDrops works in a slow steady way to improve your skin. Sort of the reverse of the slow steady way it’s been damaged over the years. Give it 3-6 months and you should notice firmer, more elastic and more glowing skin.
Until January 25, the price is reduced from $49 to $39 for a 1 ounce bottle that’ll last you 45-60 days with consistent use.
